Big Blue Marble Academy, a rapidly growing and leading provider of high-quality, education-based programs for children across the country through a unique, proprietary curriculum, a rich language immersion program, and hands-on, student-led philanthropic activities through Heart Projects, has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource leader. This highly visible position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and be located in Auburn, AL or Atlanta, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for a human resources professional who is interested in joining a team to play a significant role in creating a high-performance environment at a company that values the positive organizational impact through exceptional Human Resources leadership at both the strategic and day-today level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC BUSINESS PARTNER: Understand and anticipate business priorities and contributes to the development of the business strategy.

  • Partner with the management team to understand key performance issues, objectives and drivers and converts those needs into people management solutions
  • Understand business context, issues and challenges to provide coaching to managers and employees
  • Use business knowledge to provide effective solutions that align with business goals
  • Leads the people element of M&A integrations and divestitures
  • Together with the leadership team, build and drive an employee culture of engagement; promote and lead others to ensure a positive work environment that supports the organization's high performance culture
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance including but not limited to: equal employment opportunity/affirmative action, wage and hour, and work authorization; stays abreast of pending and new legislation; prepares and interprets employee statistics for government reporting

 

CHANGE CHAMPION: Embrace change and understand strategies to address and reduce employee resistance

  • Challenge the status quo, champion new initiatives and act as a catalyst for change that drives continuous improvement in business performance
  • Drive organizational and cultural change
  • Coach managers on leading change, engaging employees and effectively building capabilities
  • Design and lead initiatives to transition the organization to an employer of choice and reduce employee turnover

TALENT MANAGER AND ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGNER: Select, retain and develop the right talent and capabilities

  • Develop and implement proactive and innovative talent management solutions to deliver business results
  • Coach, challenge and support directors in their role on people development and organizational related processes
  • Utilize people metrics to present key insights and decisions around engagement and retention 
  • Develop and oversee job evaluations and annual review programs. Collaboratively create development plans and coach individuals in achieving them
  • Evaluate and benchmark compensation programs to establish and ensure internal equity and external competitiveness

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, Master's degree preferred
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressive Human Resources experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment creating, scaling and implementing HR policies and programs
  • Experience managing within multi-state and multi-local jurisdictional legal standards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong business acumen, understanding how the business agenda drives people imperatives and future organizational needs
  • Experience overseeing payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Breadth of knowledge on HR practices, procedures and HR laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, facilitation and coaching skills; engages and builds effective relationships across the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Proven success in project management and leading change initiatives
  • Proactive in anticipating needs; and develop and execute strategies and plans to address.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Comfortable communication style that is well received within all levels of the organization and external relationships
  • Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google-Suite
  • Ability to travel within the United States (10% - 20%)
